I've been browsing through all the blogs recently, reading the hearts of many sharing about down syndrome, as October is awareness month. Shortly after Taylor was born, we found ourselves curiously reading about so many other families and their lives with a child with down syndrome. I spent hours reading and getting lost in blogland. It brought us so much encouragement during those first few months as we tried to learn and understand.

We truly feel blessed that God has gifted us with Taylor and her uniqueness. It has been a year of great personal growth. One Mom had this quote posted, and I couldn't agree more.

‎"God doesn't give children with special needs to strong people; He gives children with special needs to ordinary, weak people and then gives them strength. Raising a child with Down syndrome doesn't take a special family, it makes a special family."

We are no more special than any other family out there, but having Taylor come into our lives has really made us feel special this year. We continue to pray that her life and ours will be used for His glory, not ours.

In my book, you are a VERY SPECIAL FAMILY......but you are right - it is the strength that God provides that makes it all possible. Taylor is such a little doll, and your other two daughters are such beautiful little girls too! It looks like they are so good with Taylor. You are an inspiration to us, and I'm sure to many!!
